I purchased Baroque in 2016. This is the fifth sailboat I’ve owned and by far my favorite.
She is very, very stable and sails like a dream. She is fast and makes sailing Lake Pepin a ton of fun!
Some History
Pearson Yachts was founded by cousins, Clinton and Everett Pearson. Their 28′ TRITON was the company’s first sailing vessel. Before this they had been building dinghies and small power boats with the new construction material, fiberglass. Their aim was to build a sailing vessel that would sell for under $10k.
From 1964 on, William Shaw was chief designer for Pearson Yachts, one of Americas largest sailboat manufacturers for more than two decades. Before joining Pearson, he worked at Sparkman & Stephens in New York. Bill Shaw has at least 53 designs attributed to him.
We feel that Mr. Shaw put everything he learned in his long career into the design of the Pearson 36-2. We love her and I am sure that you will too.
